California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI, CSU Channel Islands, known informally CI) and four-year comprehensive public university located outside of Camarillo, California in Ventura County. CI opened in 2002, as the 23 campus California State University, succeeding the Ventura County campus of CSU Northridge. CI is located halfway between Santa Barbara and Los Angeles in Camarillo, at the intersection of the Oxnard Plain and the most northern of the Santa Monica Mountain range. Campus
Campus is located about two miles (3 km) south of the city of Camarillo, at the bottom of Long Grade Canyon. John Spoor Broome Library
